Care Add-On — Health Data Notice
The narrower rules that apply to medications, glucose, vitals and appointment records.
- Version
- 2026-09-01.1
- In effect from
- 1 September 2026
- When you accept it
- Accepted when you switch on the Care add-on
The Care add-on lets you keep medication schedules, doses, glucose readings, vitals, activity and appointments in one place, and print a summary for a clinician.
1. This data is held more tightly than anything else
Care records are readable only by your own account. They are excluded from:
- coach visibility, including coaches you have booked;
- every Care Circle scope, including Signals;
- all Sponsor and institutional reporting, aggregate or otherwise;
- product analytics and personalisation.
This is enforced in the database access rules, not only in the app.
2. It is a record, not a medical device
Reminders are best-effort and depend on your device. Calculations are arithmetic on what you entered. Do not rely on the app for dosing decisions, and never change a treatment because of something it displayed. Always confirm with your prescriber or pharmacist.
3. Imported data
If you import a CGM export, the file is parsed on your device and only the resulting readings are stored. We do not retain the original file.
4. Sharing with a clinician
The doctor report is generated locally and printed or saved by you. We do not transmit it anywhere, and no copy is kept beyond your own record.
5. Turning it off
Turning off the Care add-on stops collection and hides the section. Your records remain until you delete them, which you can do individually or all at once from Care → Settings → Delete all Care data. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
6. Regulatory position
iCare Now is not a HIPAA covered entity by default. Where an institutional customer requires it, we will enter a Business Associate Agreement and the corresponding controls will be described in that agreement.
