How it works

One loop, every situation. Learn it once.

iCare Now is built on a self-navigation framework written to the person inside the situation: the employee re-reading a performance note at midnight, the student staring at a failed midterm, the parent reading a text at 1 a.m. It hands you some of a trained outsider’s clarity in advance — enough to stabilise, act deliberately rather than reflexively, and recognise the point where doing it alone stops being the better option.

Each turn hands something to the next.

A topic is not the destination. It is the entry to a loop that ends with something moved and something to hand on — a note for the next reader, an invite, a circle. That is why every page in the product knows what comes after it.

  1. 1

Discover. Start from what is going on — a new job, a first semester, a child leaving — not from a diagnosis or a quiz. Situations rank the whole library for you.

  2. 2

Read. One of 248 topics, each with its field-guide row: earliest signal, the lever that is yours, the line where you stop doing it alone, and what “through” looks like. Plus the playbook for its area.

  3. 3

Practice. The Pause Kit for the ninety seconds before you act. The State Capture for the fifteen minutes to understand it. Both private, both in the app.

  4. 4

Listen. An episode on the topic: someone who lived it, someone trained in it, one thing to do before tomorrow — and the line, stated out loud.

  5. 5

Plan. One topic on your plan, with the one next right thing named: when, where. Five is the cap; most people do better with two.

  6. 6

Review. Two weeks on: Safe, Steady, Settled. Out is not the same as over, and relapse is data. If it has not moved, the Five D's say who to bring in.

  7. 7

Share. A note for the next reader. An invite for someone a week behind you. A Care Circle for someone you want to look out for.

The framework

The SAFER loop: slow at the front, fast at the back.

Every one of the 248 interventions asks you to run the same five moves. Most people invert it — act in the first ten seconds, then spend three weeks reviewing.

Tap a stage. Every one of the 248 interventions asks you to run the same five moves — learn it once and it applies to a bad grade, a difficult manager and a child who has stopped calling.

  • Signals in four tiers

Friction, avoidance, substitution, collapse. Catch it at friction and it is cheap. Watch behaviour and body, not mood — the four countables are sleep, plate, people, threshold.

  • Four kinds of stake

Recoverable, compounding, structural, safety — each on its own clock. Structural decisions are never made inside a spike. Safety skips the framework.

  • The control map

Mine, shared, not mine. Most people misfile in one direction. The Mine column is never empty.

  • The 48-hour test

If I'm wrong about this in 48 hours, what does it cost? Low and reversible — act and learn. High and irreversible — you are almost certainly reacting.

  • The Five D's

Duration, drift, distortion, danger, dependence. Any one means self-navigation has hit its ceiling and a trained person will get a better result faster.

  • Three gates out

Safe, steady, settled. Out is not over. Test each with the smallest real version, on purpose; relapse is data.

The full framework, with its 16 playbooks across 8 areas, is on every topic page and in the app under The loop.

Tools, not advice. Each with a time cost.

The Pause Kit is what you do in the ninety seconds before you send, say, resign or drop out. The State Capture is what you do in the fifteen minutes after. Both live in the app, both save privately, and both are named by the playbook for your area as its tool of choice.

  • 90 sec

    Ninety on the Clock

You're about to send, say, resign or drop out.

  • 30 sec

    Physiological Sigh

Your body is ahead of your thinking — before a meeting, mid-meeting, before the call.

  • 2–10 min

    TIPP

Full activation; you can't form sentences.

  • 5 min

    Two-Column Split

You can't tell what's fact and what's your read.

  • 15 min

    The One-Page State Capture

You need to actually understand the situation.

The line

Where you stop doing this alone — stated out loud, on every page.

Self-navigation has a ceiling, and the most sophisticated thing in the framework is the willingness to notice it. So the product is a ladder, not a funnel: each rung names the moment you step up to the next, and a coach here will say “that needs a clinician” when it does — that referral is part of the job.

iCare Now is a wellbeing and coaching platform. It is not therapy, medical advice or an emergency service. What it is: a way to get clarity and direction during a transition, and a route to the right person when clarity is not enough.

How it is paid for

The library is free. The people are paid.

  • Members

Explore is free. iCare Plus adds group sessions, a Care Circle and a reviewed plan. 1:1 work is billed by the coach; many employers sponsor hours.

  • Coaches

Keep 80% of 1:1, 70% of group seats, 85% of retreats. A flat fee per episode. Sponsored hours at a published rate. Paid monthly.

  • Employers and institutions

A seat pool per person per month, plus optional coaching hours. Reporting is aggregate over cohorts of 25 or more, never an individual.

  • Never

No advertising. No selling of data. No sponsor ever sees an individual's entries, requests or bookings — enforced in the database rules, not just the interface.

We would like to use Google Analytics to see which topics people actually reach. It sets cookies, so we are asking first. The library, the podcast and the crisis lines all work either way. Privacy policy
