A Care Circle is a small group — a family, a household, a pair — who agree to see a defined slice of each other's wellbeing so that support can arrive before a crisis does.
1. Three rules that do not bend
- Nothing is shared until you switch it on. A new circle shares nothing.
- Sharing is per person, per scope, in one direction. Choosing to show your trend to your mother does not show it to your brother, and does not let you see hers.
- You can revoke instantly, and the other person is told. There is no silent removal, because a silent change is how oversight becomes surveillance.
2. The scopes
| Scope | What the other person sees |
|---|---|
| Rhythm | Whether you checked in today, and your streak |
| Trend | A 7-day direction: steadier, mixed, or harder |
| Signals | A flag if an agreed pattern threshold is crossed |
| Shared notes | Only the specific entries you send |
3. Never shared, under any scope
Journal entries · S.E.W. sentences · coaching session content · community posts · Care records (medications, glucose, vitals, appointments) · anything you wrote before the scope was enabled.
4. Signals
A signal fires on an agreed pattern — for example, five consecutive days below the line, or no check-in for a week. When one fires, both people are told at the same time, and the person it is about is shown support options first.
Signals describe a pattern. They never describe content, and they are not a clinical assessment.
5. Symmetry
A circle can be mutual — a parent and an adult child can each show the other a trend. We encourage it. Oversight that only runs one way is the kind young people learn to route around.
6. Members aged 13–15
Additional protections apply, including guardian consent and a mandatory transparency screen. See the Guardian Consent Terms.
7. Leaving
Leaving a circle stops all sharing immediately and removes your historical figures from the other person's view. Anything you explicitly sent as a shared note stays with the recipient, as a message would.
8. What this is not
A Care Circle is not a monitoring service, not a safety guarantee, and not supervised by a clinician. Nobody at iCare Now watches your signals. If you are worried about someone, talk to them — and use /crisis if it is urgent.
